Who is MCAE?

Monterey County Agricultural Education, Inc. (MCAE) is a non-profit organization run by a 100% volunteer Board. Our mission is to foster respect and appreciation of Monterey County’s number one industry – Agriculture – by bringing together and educating urban and rural communities to understand and appreciate the positive impact of Monterey County’s proud agricultural heritage. We also show how Agriculture’s use of progressive science and modern technology impacts better health and nutrition throughout the world.

“I remember going to Farm Day in elementary school and being intrigued by all the new equipment, even as a young child. Having more similar events could be a beneficial strategy in getting youth interested and involved in agriculture.”

MCAE Ag Scholarship Winner

“It gives me great pride to help educate our 3rd graders on how their food is grown. The dedication of Farm Day volunteers who provide the animals and displays for the students to interact with is amazing.  Everyone looks forward to Farm Day!”

Norm Groot,
Executive Director

Monterey County Farm Bureau

“Farm Day had great interactions and lots of genuine enthusiasm. It's a phenomenal opportunity for children to get a hands-on feel for where their food supply truly comes from. Five star experience.”
